Resistant to the LMS and eLearning
I was reading Michele Martin’s blog,
The Bamboo Project
and the Post, Change Your Behavior, Change Your Mind, made me think of a problem I have been having with my current project.
I work for a software company, we have a main office and several satellite offices.
One of the satellite offices processes paperwork and everything in this office is very manual.
I went to the VP and told him I had ideas on how we could use the LMS to help them and reduce turnover.
The LMS is successfully being used in other offices within our company for very similar training.
I was green lighted; I did need analysis, and threw together a first draft.
I revised based on feedback from within my office and then went to the subject matter experts in the satellite office.
They are very resistant to the LMS course and it is a top down issue within that office, so what do I do next?
This is where Michele’s post comes in!
If I can get them for just a moment to change their behavior and actually try training a new person on the course it will change their mind.
I think if I give them license to poke as many holes in the system as possible, they will try it.
Then I can build it up again so we will all win and have a new hire program they are willing to use.
If you read this thank you for the inspiration Michele.
